Verizon Developer Community “Apply Your Ideas” Contest Community Rules

Welcome to the Verizon Developer Community (VDC) “Apply Your Ideas” Contest. The contest website is equipped with community features designed to help you share your ideas and promote your unique application while competing for a chance to win cash prizes, huge exposure and more! We welcome active participation from new and experienced developers alike. To ensure the VDC “Apply Your Ideas” Contest Community (Community) runs smoothly, please read and abide by these simple set of rules. By using the Community and any of its features, you agree to abide by these Rules. If you cannot or do not agree with these Rules, do not participate in the contest or the community.

Sharing Content and Information

Play Nice - Sharing ideas and concepts is great! Rudeness, personal attacks or otherwise inflammatory posts are not.

No Spam - We’ve built in features to help you promote your app to the contest community, but advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the Community application profiles, developer descriptions, comments and multimedia features to spam or otherwise abuse other members.

Keep it Clean - Don’t post or link to sites that contain anything obscene, vulgar, hateful, threatening or sexual in nature or that violates copyrights, trademarks, intellectual property rights, any applicable law or Verizon’s content standards. The VDC team shall be the sole arbitrator in such cases.

One Profile Per App – You can submit as many applications as you like for consideration in the contest, but you should not post duplicate application profiles.

Privacy

Protect Yourself - Verizon strongly discourages you from posting personally identifiable information in the Community. Any information posted on the Community is at your own risk. Verizon respects and protects the privacy of our customers and those who use our Web sites, and the Verizon Privacy Policy provides details of our approach to privacy and how we collect, use and protect personal information. But information posted on Community is not protected and can be easily obtained and used by others.

Protect Others - Do not post Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI) or any information that could be a breach of customer privacy (e.g., phone numbers, usernames, passwords, etc.)

Copyright

Piracy Forbidden - Illegal activities, e.g., software and music piracy and other intellectual property violations are not allowed.

General Conditions

  • We reserve the right to remove offensive content in our sole discretion and without notice.
  • Any communication with Verizon outside the Community is considered confidential information. Such information posted in the Community will be deleted
  • We reserve the right to terminate an account, and/or ban a user from the Community, for violating these rules
  • Although the administrators and moderators of the Community will attempt to keep objectionable content off the Community, it is impossible for us to review all content. All postings solely express the views of the author, and Verizon will not be held responsible for the content.
  • You warrant that as a user of the Community, you own all right, title, and interest in and to your postings. You agree to indemnify Verizon, our affiliates, partners, customers, and their and our employees and agents (“Verizon Parties”) against all claims, losses, liabilities, costs, damages and expenses incurred by Verizon or the Verizon Parties due to any breach by you of the Forum Rules or your use of the Community.

Verizon reserves the right to modify the Community Rules at any time, effective upon posting of the modified Rules on the Community or, in the case of the Verizon Privacy Policy or the Verizon Developer Portal Terms and Conditions, on any other Verizon sponsored Web site. Verizon also reserves the right to apply, waive, or modify the Community Rules as they apply to a specific posting and user without affecting the application of the Community Rules to all other postings and users.

Users of the Community are responsible for exercising careful and appropriate judgment in evaluating and taking action based on other postings Community, since such postings may reflect significantly different levels of knowledge and experience by participants. Users of the Community agree that Verizon is not responsible for the accuracy of the content of the Community and will not be liable for any damages incurred as a result of their use of any such content. Developers may post hypertext links to content hosted and maintained by third parties. Verizon has no obligation to monitor these linked sites, and is not responsible for them. Accessing any such linked sites is done entirely at your own risk.

Your use of the Community is governed by these Rules, together with the Verizon "Apply Your Ideas" Application Development Contest Official Rules, Verizon Privacy Policy and Verizon Developer Portal Terms and Conditions (collectively, the "Terms"). These Community Rules describe the permitted and prohibited uses of the Contest Site. Your access or use of the Community and any of its features evidences your acceptance of the terms and any related rules and guidelines posted on Verizon-branded web sites.

If you becomes aware of misuse of the Community by any person or service, please click on the "Contact Verizon” or the “Report Abuse” link at the bottom of the Verizon Website pages.
