Finding a tax lawyer and even more the best Canadian tax lawyer is a very daunting task and something that no one actually intends to do in their lifetime. And most people will not even try to consider hiring the best Canadian tax lawyer for them until they receive a letter in the mail telling them that the IRS also known as Internal Revenue Services or whatever tax governing board is present in your state needs them for an audit.
I was not one of those people. I was actually pretty aware of how things work especially because my older brother (who I love very dearly) is, in my opinion, the best Canadian tax lawyer. Me and my family were always updated with our bills, income tax return and everything.
However, when I got married to my fiancé who lives in California and naturally I moved to the United States, where we lived in a nice residential neighborhood with friendly people who walk the streets every day. It was really a perfect neighborhood for a young couple.
However after just 2 years of living in that neighborhood we noticed that our taxes have increased a more than significant amount. In which I once asked for help from my parents to pay the monthly bill. I was absolutely furious about it. Worst of all, I was not the only one experiencing the problem, most of the people we randomly talk to and neighbors said that their taxes have gone haywire for around 6 years. So we decided to try some things.
We started with an appeal at the Assessor’s office. It was basically a general appeal but it did no good because just after weeks of phone calls to follow up on how things were going it was just denied. So we then asked (basically beg) for a breakdown on how our housing market was getting so high? We did not live near the beach with all those millionaires, again we lived in a residential neighborhood with white fences and all of us were struck by the Global Financial Crisis and many houses were foreclosed.
So still after our failed appeal I called, the best Canadian tax lawyer, my brother for help. He did some research online and found a way for us to appeal to the board in a more efficient way but he said it would require a tax lawyer. My best Canadian tax lawyer also pointed out some exemplary tax lawyers in the United States but I immediately put a hold on that when I saw how much their fees were. It was crazy! I want to save my house and real estate but I was not about to go bankrupt while doing it.
He understood this and he pointed me to one good eBay book – I was more than determined to get my taxes lowered not just for now but for years to come, not unless my husband wants to move to Canada with me. With the best Canadian tax lawyer’s help and with that book we were able to lower our taxes to more than 12% which equates to several hundred dollars.
